So excited to get to share this news with all of my local lady friends! Especially my East Valley lady friends! I’m sure by now you have heard of what Pure Barre is but in case you have no clue what I’m even talking about, I’ll go into a little bit of detail about it, meet the Studio Owner, give you all the details on the opening of this new Pure Barre studio AND YES there is a giveaway at the end!
Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post in exchange for classes + product; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
What is Pure Barre you say?
In just 55 minutes you will achieve a full-body workout concentrating on the areas women struggle with the most: hips, thighs, seat, abdominals and arms. The Pure Barre technique is low-impact, protecting your joints by avoiding any bouncing or jumping. Each strength section of the workout is followed by a stretching section in order to create long, lean muscles without bulk. The technique works to defy gravity by tapering everything in and lifting it up!
The concentration involved while taking Pure Barre allows you to block “life” out for the hour, creating the mental benefits similarly obtained by the practice of yoga or meditation. A transformed body and a clear head in just one hour—it doesn’t get much better than this.”
I asked my Facebook friends of what I should expect at my first Pure Barre class today and a common thread throughout the comments was that my girls really wanted to try this out themselves! So I was thrilled I got to do it. Before going, I just knew it was a mixture of different techniques some of which were ballet because of the barre they use.
Let me start off by saying, I am extremely out of shape. As most of you know that follow me through my social media outlets, I have not given much interest in bettering myself or giving any ounce of time to my body and the way I look, feel and in a healthy sense…. until recently. So with that said, I want you to know that if I can do it… You can do it.
The class was many stretches and you didn’t stay too long in one position. In addition, there is opportunity for you to adjust the form of each position to fit your fitness level. There was use of the ballet barre but not at all of what I was expecting. I was thinking we were literally going to be doing pliés in front of the mirror but I was definitely wrong. Instead we used it for stability within the movements and positions. The key thing with Pure Barre is very tiny movements. Its pretty crazy how an inch of a movement can make you shake, burn and work out. And let me tell you… the SHAKING…
They want you to shake… That’s how you know its working. So that awkward shaking you get while planking? Think of that but throughout the whole workout. So be warned – you will not look crazy with all the shaking you will be doing because everyone is shaking – its a good thing.
Did I sweat? HECK YES I DID. And so were my lovely ladies next to me. Which leads me to another tip, stand next to someone that is a PRO at Pure Barre. That seriously helped me.
I can definitely see how this technique can strengthen and tone every little itty bitty muscle you never thought existed. This will definitely give you that long lean dancers’ body if you stick with it.
What to wear:
Loose top. Exercise pants that sit below the knee or if they go to your ankle, make sure it is fitted at the ankle. And sticky socks. If you don’t have any, pick some up. You’ll need it. Oh, and don’t forget your water; you’ll definitely need that too!!!
So where is this place at? They are nationwide, but today I am talking to my East Valley girls in Arizona… They are now opened at Dana Park! Smack right next to Kirklands! (For a perfect shopping experience after you’re done with your class of course!) The official address is: Dana Park Village Square, 1854 South Val Vista Drive #108, Mesa, AZ 85204 And if you’d like to chat with them, you can at (480) 213-6748
