Huge List of Keywords to Build Your Blog Name

As you may know, I recently made a big blog name change from The Sentimental Mama over to what it is now, Her Hashtag Life. This blog has went through more than one blog name change though. When I originally started blogging, this space was known as Cashmere Haven. For my love of the scent of cashmere and for this space to be my “save haven” to write. After that it morphed into The Sentimental Bride after I got engaged. This name didn’t stick around too long as I quickly became a Mom and it morphed into The Sentimental Mama. Her Hashtag Life was officially given to this blog last year – if you want to read more about it, you can do so here. During my naming process, I kept a running record of keywords that stuck out to me or inspired me. I wanted to give this list out in hopes of helping out other ladies who were in my shoes just a ball of anxiety trying to figure out their blog name. Here is my HUGE list of keywords to build your blog name and some combinations that stuck out to me too.

Before I dive in, I want to make sure that you knew these were just keywords for inspiration.

Please double-check your combinations to insure they are not already in use.

Tips to generate your own unique name

1. Focus on using two to three words total.
2. Use something that is meaningful or sentimental.
3. Ask yourself questions such as, who is your target audience? And what will you want to write about? Do you need a name that is all-encompassing/generic or something firm and to the point?
4. Incorporate your birth month or a birth month that is meaningful to you.
5. Utilize your name and or variations of your name like a nickname.
6. Using words like: “and”, “co.”, “with”, “the” or “of” within your name is also helpful (see ideas below)
7. Spell out a number that has meaning to you.
8. Are there any hashtags that inspire you?
9. Use two words that begin with the same letter – i.e. Beyond Bre or Nostalgic November.
10. Google the name – even though it might not be taken on social media, it might have a bad connotation to the name.
