Social Media has been a part of my life since I was 13 years old. I was an avid user of “social media” before the term social media even existed back in 1996. That’s when I was 13 years old and was building chat rooms on mIRC and ICQ when other 13 year-olds were trying out for the drill team. Growing up I was definitely misunderstood when it came to playing on this “really cool thing called the internet” but I kept with it, watching and participating in it as it has evolved.

Photography passions ignited in 1998 with my first photoshoot in the mountains of SoCal. I was very interested on posing, styling, makeup, hair and even what was happening behind the camera. For a few years into adulthood, I worked on building my modeling portfolio, connecting with photographers and honing in on my craft. I tinkered around with cameras but it wasn’t until I was gifted a DSLR for my 30th birthday so I can take pictures of my newborn baby boy, Gentry, that I fell in love with creating still moments in time.

Which now leads me to, Blogging. I understood Blogging from my mIRC & ICQ days with platforms like XANGA, but WordPress was a whole other ballgame. I had a blog that I utilized more like an open journal but it wasn’t until I really wanted to share my creative side to hopefully spark inspiration in others that prompted me to officially start “blogging.”

Riding the wave of social media meets blogging meets Instagram, I was at the cusp of the “Influencer explosion” in 2013.

As a self-proclaimed encourager of authenticity and known for my strategic connecting abilities, I not only had a passion of connecting people on social media but also offline through creative collaborations with my #CatchMeAtLuxe content-building events for Bloggers, Photographers and Brands.

It was at that time that I saw all of my worlds combine. Social media. Photography. Blogging. All of it now culminated into my events.

As my footprint changed on social media through these years, my community did too. My Facebook Group initially started as a resource to blog better transformed into a beautiful pro-collaborative group. I am able to utilize my creative skills along with my corporate skills to mentor and grow this group to what it is today: Catch Me Collaborating for Bloggers + Brands + Photographers. This spawned a passion to help creatives collaborate BETTER, more effectively, professionally and successfully which transpired into my first eCourse: Catch Me Collaborating
