…Goodbye 2010…
And hello 2011! The year before the end of the world! haha
While jammin’ in my car this past weekend… I reflected over this past year and I was thinking… Man, I did SO MUCH this year I’m having a hard time remembering it all! And this year was so MEMORABLE that I want to remember everything that has happened! So here I sit on my rumpus and I will jot down some of the FANTASTIC things and not so fantastic things that have happened this year in my life (not in any specific order). I shall add to this as I remember… So this list might grow! hehe
-Quit my job of 2.5 years for the unknown
-Packed up my little Corolla as much as I could fit my life into that metal shell with two friends in tow and made a bee-line from California to Tennessee. Stopping by every single “Welcome to…” state signs. It was a whirlwind!
-Moved into a house that looks like its out of a story book with two almost strangers in the middle of the woods.
-Learned what a corn is REALLY meant for… SQUIRRELS!
-Felt the season changes of Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter for the first time.
-Witnessed a “man makeover” 3o,ooo feet in the air… on a plane.
-Got my first EVER ticket and my first EVER parking ticket within 3 months of each other.
-Saw my first praying mantis & leaf bug.
-Heard the sound of ice hitting my windshield for the first time.
-Was in a house that almost caught fire from the siding melting from the BBQ!
-Went sideways in my car sliding on snow.
-Met Taylor Swifts mom
-In route to an interview (at my now employer), I stopped by to get some good ‘ol Chick-Fil-A. My trunk just so happened to be opened. And in the middle of the drive thru, a lady got out of her car, shut my trunk and tapped on my window to let me know what she had done. Southerners. Gotta love ’em.
-Kissed in a vineyard.
-Visited family from California I haven’t seen in YEARS… in Clarksville, TN go figure.
-Attempted to start my first John Deere lawnmower.
-Crossed a miniature river… in heels.
-Was on TLC’s What Not to Wear & Extreme Makeover Home Edition.
-Saw a car go reverse all the way up the on ramp to the freeway.
-Was in attendance at the Nashville Rising Benefit concert.
-Assisted in a minor turtle rescue.
-A snake came across my path for the first time.
-Fell in LOVE with lightning bugs!
-Witnessed a man, in his bathing suit, washing his car, during a horrible lightning storm.
-Almost hit so many deer I have lost count.
-Saw a bicyclist and a person walking on the freeway… In two separate occasions.
-Spent my first holiday with my Father’s side of the family.
-Stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas.
-Was a bartender for the first time.
-Saw a chick from high school… At the Bridgestone Arena.
-Adopted Y’all & Fixin’ as part of my vocabulary.
-Landed a job… or two… or three… or four… ALL AT ONCE.
-Began my efforts at finally starting my own business.
-Learned what it truly means and feels like to miss someone.
-Had a deer blow its boogers at me.
-…ate my first deer burger 😉
-Purchased my first professional camera.
-Learned that the salt they put on the snow also is horrible to get off your car windows.
-Went to the Altamont Craft Fair & the Taste of Atlanta events.
-Purchased my first, super, ubber, comfy bed.
-Have driven to 9 different states in the past 9 months & has successfully driven my car completely across the United States of America!
-Almost was in a lawsuit with a car dealership over a lemon.
-Have been pulled over, in Arkansas, at night, drilled on who is in my car and what is in my car, then proceeded to be hit on.
-Been to all four major hubs of Tennessee: Nashville, Knoxville, Chattanooga & Memphis.
-Got my 3rd set of braces off… on to the 4th set! grr…
-Went to my first concert.
-Witnessed my first tornado.
-Had my first EVER white Christmas.
-Lived through a historical flood.
-Went through 12 dates in 2 hours. My first speed dating experience.
-Was flipped off and cussed at by a person in a car – for NO reason. I have witnesses.
-Backed into a parked car.
-Graduated CASA.
-Shot a gun for the first time.
-Gave Tim McGraw a big FAT hug!
-Took Scuba diving lessons.
-Completed a 5k walk/run for charity in 26 degree weather.
-Ate snow cream for the first time.
-Slipped & fell at work… in front of not only my co-workers but also our customers.
-Lost a hubcap off of a freeway.
-Almost died when I stepped on two LIVE mice that were stuck to sticky glue at my desk at work!
-Found out how difficult it is to buy ethnic food at the local grocery store.
-Ate at Centeral BBQ in Memphis, TN which is listed in the “1,000 Places to Visit Before You Die”
-Had my sweater stolen from my car – and nothing else.
-Ran a half mile in a torrential downpour and lightning storm.
-Ate black-eyed peas for the first time.
-First New Years Eve not seeing the ball drop at midnight – due to an intense WII game competition.
-On behalf of my 2010 New Years resolution (to learn football), went to my first football game ever on New Years Eve.
