Today for my On The Record series, I bring you a special Mama named Chelsea. She is a beautiful Mama who is just as sweet as can be. Together with her husband Jay they have a beautiful little girl and a brand spankin’ new baby boy! I really hope you enjoy a little bit deeper of a look into her life, why she blogs and how she views herself as a Mama to one and soon to be two. {this interview was also done while she was still pregnant} And don’t forget to stop by her blog to see all the adorable newborn pictures and read about her birth story!
1) Tell me a little bit about yourself!
I am a 2nd generation born and raised Arizonan, which I’ve found is very rare. I have lived here all my life and love living in Arizona! I was born on my Dad’s 50th birthday on May 4th and that something special we will always be able to share. I have been with my husband for nearly 10 years now and when we first met at college group at our church I knew that one day he would be my husband. We knew within months of dating that we wanted to marry each other, but waited 2 years before getting engaged. I had just turned 21 and Jay was almost 23 when we got married, so we were just babies when we met. I love him more today than I did the day we married and love sharing life with him.
2) You’re pregnant with your second babe! What are your feelings towards this pregnancy compared to your first?
My feelings toward this pregnancy have been so different. My thoughts are mostly consumed about having to share my time between two babies and how Hiley is going to handle it. Where as when I was pregnant with Hiley it was mostly fears of being a new Mom and not knowing what to expect at all.
3) What are some things you have craved while pregnant?
The craziest thing about this pregnancy is food just never seems to sound good, ever. I could careless if I eat and have to force myself to throughout the day. It is so bizarre and what’s even more strange, the only thing I’ve really craved is steak and when I’m not pregnant, I hate steak.
4) Who inspires you as a Mom?
I’ve always been inspired and looked up to my Mom. I can honestly say I have never met a more selfless person than she is. If you needed a dollar and that is all she had, she would still give it to you without a second thought. That is the kind of person she is. Not only is she completely selfless, but she is completely patient. I don’t know how she always manages to stay so calm and patient. It is truly amazing and I aspire to be more like her.
5) What has been the hardest thing to maintain since having a little one running around the house?
Since having a little one it has been harder to maintain date nights. We try to get out at least twice a month, but sometimes it doesn’t always happen.
6) When did you start blogging?
I started this blog in October 2014
7) What do you like to blog about the most? What subjects do you hope to cover in the future?
Currently I’ve loved blogging about my pregnancy, but in the future hope to blog more about real life situations that have to do with my marriage, family and friends. I want people to see a real person, because that is what I am.
8) What is one blog that inspires you and why?
I started following this blog (http://www.ruthiehart.com) when I was pregnant with my daughter Hiley 2 years ago. I found her inspiring because she was one of the few that posted real life things and didn’t always look or seem picture perfect which is what I hope for my blog.
9) What is the future of your blog? What do you want to accomplish with it? Do you have any blogging goals?
I hope to continue blogging after our little guy is born and look forward to sharing our journey along the way. As I’ve said above, I want people to see a real person and I hope that I am able to inspire and encourage those reading along. A goal of mine, I would love to be able to have the opportunity to do reviews on products and hope this is something I can accomplish. My reason being, I love to try new things and I think reviews are so important!
10) What does your husband say about your blog?
My husband is my biggest encourager when it comes to my blog and is actually the one that pushed me to do it. Writing has always been a passion of mine and he fully supports and encourages it. He says he loves reading everything I have to say.
Thank you so much Chelsea for letting me into your little private world and getting to know you better! You are such a beautiful person inside and out! I hope my readers will become your new readers! xoxo
